Project overview
What do we know?
The first element of the project is to consolidate what we already know about the transition to university.
We are doing this by conducting a systematic review. (a big search of the previous research, registered here).
From this search we reviewed all the results and summarised the findings into a conceptual model (kind of like a mind map) identifying factors that impact a persons ability to 'succeed' in the transition.

Who thrives?
The second element of the project is to test whether our conceptual model is any good!
We are doing this by conducting a longitudinal study following a group of students through this transition for 8 months.
Based on their data we will test and refine our conceptual model. We will also use the results from this to help design an intervention that targets key components of the model.
Helping people thrive!
The Third element of the project is to trial our intervention!
We will do this by replicating the longitudinal study but asking participants to work through the intervention at some point in their transition.
From this data we will be able to see if our intervention has an impact on allowing participants to succeed and thrive in the transition period. We will also be able to confirm our refined model is still good!
